Either all of this blogging is really paying off, or this was a pretty easy Friday. As much as I'd like to pat myself on the back, I'm going to go with the latter.
This was another day of just start running through all of the accrosses, as I couldn't get a foothold in the upper left or upper right. UNLIT, TOGAS, and KUNIS came early, followed by NAM and UMA. As there wasn't an obvious place to start I began working through all of the downs, with LGBT, ROMEO, and MILDEW first (MILDEW may have won for favorite fill, btw). At first I was dismayed at the pretty empty fill, but was able to test and retest enough to get the fill (none of those overlapping obscure clues from the other day)
For the long acrosses, I really wanted them to be pure opposites of each other, like 'captain obvious' and ... not sure what the opposite of that is, but I did quite enjoy the cluing. There were some other great clues in the puzzle though, particularly MILDEW, ABLUSH, and MASHABLE. BIG TOC (was hoping it was an underground rapper I didn't know, maybe BIG BOY and YOUNG JOC'S long-lost cousin?), but in my mind 'Frontline' was 'Dateline' and I knew it was on a major network .... so BIG TOC it was.
